This morning at the Stockman, the subject of Christmas shopping came up. I mentioned I hated to go shopping and that the Warden would just as soon I didn't go with her.
Clem said, "Not my Claire. She wants me to go with her every year."
"Really?" stated Chester, "She really values your opinion on colors and gift selection?"
"Nothing like that," confessed Clem. "She just wants someone to push the cart, tote the bags and pay the bill!"
"Well I only buy one gift each Christmas and that's for Chloe" stated Chester.
"How do you decide what to get her," I asked.
"That's easy," explained Chester, "I just call up my oldest daughter and ask her how much I owe her for Chloe's gift."
And the Spirit of Giving continues another year.

Misery loves company. That's the main reason I ask Danny to come along sometimes. I love giving gifts, but I hate shopping. Then there are certain gifts I wouldn't know how to shop for. Most of Danny's family is in the construction business and they like getting tools. Please do not ask me to buy tools unless you can tell me the exact brand and specifications as well as where to find it in the hardware store!
Chester calls his daughter.
I just ask Debbie what she ordered from QVC for me to get her.
One year, during my working life, a lady in the office made a table decoration. She said she loved to make stuff but couldn't afford to keep them. From then on, all the important dates for gifts to the wife were on the calendar and all I had to do was pay the lady for her fine work. I would from time to time add candy or flowerrs but for many years I ahd gift giving in the bag so to speak. MUD
After reading Chester's comment""That's easy," explained Chester, "I just call up my oldest daughter and ask her how much I owe her for Chloe's gift."
